Ukraine’s prime minister told the BBC that if Ukraine loses its fight against Russia, it could lead to a “Third World War.” He’s hoping the US Congress will approve a bill with $61 billion for Ukraine War. The House of Representatives plans to vote on this on Saturday.

The aid package also includes money for Israel and the Indo-Pacific. Russia says more aid won’t change things on the battlefield, as they see the situation as not in Ukraine’s favor. The Ukrainian Prime Minister said they need this money urgently to protect Ukraine. He warned that if Ukraine falls, it could destroy the global security system and lead to more wars, possibly even a world war.

This isn’t the first time Ukraine has talked about the risk of a major war if it loses. Last year, the Ukrainian President said a Russian victory could lead to an invasion of Poland and trigger World War Three. But Russian officials have called these claims scaremongering. President Putin recently said the idea of Russia attacking Eastern Europe is nonsense.

Ukraine depends on US and Western weapons to fight Russia, which has more troops and weapons. The lack of aid has already hurt Ukraine’s ability to fight, forcing them to retreat from some areas. The prime minister also mentioned that disinformation and propaganda affect people in the US, EU, and Ukraine, influencing their views.

The aid package has faced opposition from some Republicans who want funds for US-Mexico border security first. But President Biden has said he will sign the aid package into law immediately once it passes. President Zelensky has said 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the Ukraine War since 2022. At least 70,000 have died and many are injured.

Ukraine’s military has faced challenges due to a lack of weapons and ammunition. This has led to retreats and losses, including a recent retreat from Avdiivka. President Zelensky has urgently requested more aid in the Ukraine War to avoid a catastrophic situation.

Both Ukraine and Russia have suffered heavy losses. General Barrons, a former UK military commander, fears Ukraine could lose unless it gets more weapons and ammunition. Russia has focused on building up its military, spending a large part of its budget on defense. They’ve also made deals with Iran and North Korea for ammunition, missiles, and drones.
