Minutes after the presidential debate with Donald Trump ended, pop superstar Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris. In an Instagram post, Swift wrote, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” She also expressed her belief that Harris is a steady-handed, gifted leader who can lead the country to accomplish more if guided by calmness rather than chaos.
Swift also praised Harris’s selection of running mate Tim Walz for his advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s reproductive rights. Signing off as a “Childless Cat Lady”, a reference to JD Vance’s past comments, Swift posted a photo with her cat, Benjamin Button.
Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz appreciated the endorsement from a “fellow cat owner.”
