European regulators have a strong focus on promoting greener energy. The REPowerEU plan aims to add 10 million more heat pumps by 2027, and there is also an increasing use of solar panels.
Small businesses mostly handle the installations, but they could be more efficient with improved work processes. This is where the German startup Reonic steps in. Co-founder Tristan Menzinger explained that they help renewable installers become extremely efficient by providing planning and workflow software.
The founders of Reonic, Tristan Menzinger, Lars-Manuel Schneider, and Udo Sill, all worked in a research institute before starting the company. They realized that installers needed all-in-one software tools and not separate ones.
Reonic focuses on renewable energy as a whole, including photovoltaics, energy storage systems, wallboxes, and heat pumps. Their goal is to ensure energy self-consumption for every household or business.
To expand across Europe, Reonic recently raised €13 million in funding led by Northzone. This aligns with the interest of investors in climate-focused startups with a strong go-to-market strategy.
Reonic has also seen significant growth, tripling its recurring revenue in the past six months. The company believes they are just getting started and has plans to enter new markets without much customization.
While their headquarters are in Augsburg, Bavaria, almost half of Reonic’s staff works in Berlin. They opened a second office there to recruit international talent more easily.
