Authorities have not yet accessed the inside of the sunken yacht and are still searching for Mike Lynch who is missing. More information has come out recently.

A major storm and water column caused the accident, damaging the yacht. Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter and Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer are among the other six missing people. Lynch was celebrating being acquitted of charges in the US with his legal team on board. Lynch’s wife, who survived, owned the ship. Sadly, Autonomy’s finance head Stephen Chamberlain, also acquitted in Lynch’s trial, had died a week before in a car accident while jogging.

Mike Lynch, founder of UK tech company Autonomy, is missing at sea after the yacht he was on, the Bayesian, capsized in a storm off the coast of Sicily on Monday. Lynch is one of six missing people from the boat. His wife has been rescued along with 15 others, and one body has been found.

This is a tragic event for Lynch, a well-known figure in the UK technology scene. Autonomy was purchased by HP in 2011, but a legal battle ensued over allegations of being misled in the acquisition. Lynch maintained his innocence throughout the years of legal trouble, which included extradition and a second civil case in the UK that he lost.

After a decade of legal drama, Lynch was acquitted of fraud and conspiracy charges earlier this year in the US. He expressed relief at the verdict and looked forward to returning to the UK to be with his family and continue his work in the tech industry.

Lynch has been involved in investing in various companies in the UK and was known for his involvement in cybersecurity firm Darktrace. Our thoughts are with Lynch’s family and friends during this difficult time. We will provide updates as we learn more.
