Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s adviser, Jeremy Broadhurst, resigned as national campaign director of the Liberal Party of Canada. This happened just after NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh ended their agreement to support the Liberals on important votes. Broadhurst mentioned that his decision to resign was because of the toll that two decades and five national campaigns had taken on himself and his family. He believed that the upcoming federal election could be the most crucial of his life and that the party needed a campaign director with more energy and dedication to the job. Broadhurst had been involved with the Liberal Party for about 25 years, serving in various roles such as chief of staff or adviser to several leaders and cabinet ministers. He was the national director of the Liberal Party of Canada from 2013 to 2015 and contributed to their victory in the 2015 election by reorganizing their data operations. Despite his commitment to the party and the Prime Minister, Broadhurst felt it was time to step down and make room for others.
