Vice President Kamala Harris affirmed that her values have not changed during a television interview with CNN’s Dana Bash. The interview was conducted alongside her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Harris stated that her support for climate change legislation and border security demonstrates her consistent values.
Harris has not done an in-depth interview since becoming her party’s standard bearer five weeks ago. She and Walz are still introducing themselves to voters, unlike Trump and Biden, who are widely recognized by the public.
The CNN interview took place at Kim’s Cafe, a local Black-owned restaurant in Savannah, Georgia. After the interview, Walz attended other political events out of state, while Harris continued campaigning in Georgia.
Harris emphasized her commitment to investing in and growing small businesses during her campaign stops. She met with volunteers and shared her plans for offering a tax credit for startups and small businesses.
The campaign aims to engage voters in GOP-leaning areas through bus tours and hopes to create viral moments that resonate with voters nationwide.
Harris has a campaign blitz scheduled on Labor Day with Biden in Detroit and Pittsburgh. With the election approaching, Democrats’ enthusiasm for voting has surged, giving them an edge over Republicans in terms of voter enthusiasm.
