The Ethiopian government condemned the recent terror attack in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital. The Minister of Foreign Affairs issued a statement denouncing the violence and offered condolences to the families of the victims. Ethiopia stands firmly with the Somali government and its people in their fight against terrorism.

Militants from al-Shabab targeted the popular spot, where many civilians were enjoying their weekend on Lido Beach in Mogadishu. They launched a coordinated assault that included a suicide bombing and gunfire. The Mogadishu terror attack resulted in at least 32 deaths and injured 63 others, mostly civilians, along with one soldier. Security forces quickly responded and neutralized several attackers. Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the assault, emphasizing their ongoing campaign against the Somali government and its people. This incident highlights the persistent threat posed by al-Shabab in Somalia.
