Transport and Logistics Minister Dr. Alemu Sime is committed to making Ethiopia competitive in the global logistics sector. He leads the initiative “Transforming logistics for sustainable growth and prosperity.”
Dr. Sime focuses on improving the logistics capabilities of Ethiopia. International observers recently assessed Ethiopia’s logistics using World Bank criteria. They reported progress and noted that the country’s policies and strategies aim to position Ethiopia as a top destination for trade and investment.
Experts stress that modernizing logistics is vital for economic growth. They call for addressing existing challenges, upgrading the logistics system, and effectively utilizing available resources.
The program included key figures such as Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide, National Bank Governor Mamo Mihretu, Minister of Trade and Continuous Relations Dr. Kasahun Gofe, Customs Commissioner Debele Kabeta, and officials from the Ethiopian Maritime Authority.
