Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the next Apple device to lose USB-A will be the Mac mini.

Users of Apple products may have noticed the switch from USB-A to USB-C ports. Although USB-C has its benefits, the change can be confusing and may require adapters.

The Mac mini has not seen a major redesign since 2010, but Gurman says that will change this autumn. The new models will feature Apple’s M4 chip and five USB-C ports, along with an Ethernet port, HDMI connector, and headphone jack. However, the USB-A ports will be removed.

Apple has a press event called “Glowtime” scheduled for September 9, where the new iPhone 16 is expected to be announced. The new Mac lineup may not be unveiled until later in the fall.
